The police have confirmed that a local hunter, Usman Alhaji Audu, of Gada Maisaje, in Gombi LGA of Adamawa State has shot himself dead after he was asked to stop manhandling his son.

The mother of the deceased hunter had asked him to stop beating his 4-year-old son but dissatisfied with the directives of the mother, the deceased went into his room, brought out his single barrel gun and pulled the trigger into his stomach.

It was learnt that the 4-year-old boy left home but did not return on time as he was said to be playing with his peers.

Upon the boy’s return, his father descended on him and beat him mercilessly which attracted the attention of his grandmother, the mother of the deceased.

Prior to his death, the hunter told his mother that he preferred terminating his life to stop molesting his son.
