Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) in Rivers State has indicated moves to challenge the Executive Order 21 recently signed into law by Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
Apart from prohibiting political parties from holding campaign rallies in public schools in the state without permission from the Ministry of Education, the Executive Order said political parties must pay a non-refundable sum of N5 million to the ministry.
ZLP governorship candidate in the state, Leyii Kwanee, spoke yesterday in Port Harcourt, the state capital, during the official unveiling of his running mate, Mrs. Brassba Jack.
He said, “Nevertheless, let us place it on record that the issue of Executive Order 21 by the outgoing Nyesom Wike administration and similar hard line postures in the past is inimical to the growth of business and employment opportunities in our dear State.
“As a party, we view Executive Order 21 as a quest to monopolize political power through monopolizing political activities and space in the state.
