Prominent members of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC in Enugu State, including Dr. Ben Nwoye, the state Caretaker Committee chairman, Senator Kelvin Chukwu, representing Enugu East senatorial district and the deputy national chairman of the party (South) Chief Emma Enukwu, have canvassed support for the re-election of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu and governor Peter Mbah come 2027.

The APC chieftains, averred that the President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which is a comprehensive plan aimed at transforming Nigeria’s economy and restoring public confidence in governance has started yielding tremendous positive results in Nigeria.

Speaking at the weekend at his Amurri political ward in Nkanu West Council area of the state, shortly after revalidating his membership of the APC electronically, Chukwu, who recently decamped to the Nigeria’s ruling party from the opposition Labour Party, said he has no regret taking the decision.

He emphasized that his resolve to defect to the APC was informed by the human oriented programme and policies of president Tinubu and his state, governor, Mbah, whom he listed among the best performing governors in the country.

According to him, the only way the Enugu State electorate and Nigerians at large could reciprocate the good works of president Tinubu and governor Mbah, is to get them reelected,.

He, however maintained that for that to happen, people must embrace the ongoing APC E- Registration exercise so as to obtain their membership card and also get their voters card ahead of the general elections.

In his remark, Dr. Nwoye, who also hails from the same Amurri Community, posited that with the coming together of all the heavyweights politicians in the Community under one political platform, it would be extremely difficult for “any body outside APC to contest and win any election in his area in 2027.”

He stated that senator Chukwu’s membership revalidation exercise has laid to rest comments in some quarters as to whether the lawmaker has actually left the Labour Party for APC.

Nwoye, however, urged old members of the APC to endeavour to revalidate their membership of the party in the ongoing revalidation exercise, even as he called on those yet to get registered to embrace the exercise, so as to become bonafide members.

He insisted that president Tinubu and governor Mbah deserve second term in office so as to enable them consolidate on the great achievements their administrations have recorded during their first tenures in office.

Meanwhile, the deputy national chairman of the APC, (South), chief Enukwu, had during his membership revalidation exercise at his Obinagu ward in Udi local government area of the state on Saturday, harped on the need for the electorate to get themselves equipped with their membership and voters cards.

He explained that the newly introduced E- method of registration and old membership revalidation by the party was aimed at ensuring that the ruling APC is in line with the 21st century way of operating political party.
