A support group under the Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari Network for Tinubu 2027 has asked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appoint Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari as the director-general of the Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 elections.
At a press briefing held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ Secretariat in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, members drawn from different geopolitical zones expressed support for the President’s re-election bid.
Its national coordinator, Chief Preye Agama, said the gathering was to show solidarity with the Tinubu ahead of his planned visit to Bayelsa to commission projects executed by Governor Douye Diri.
Agama said Nigerians in the six geopolitical zones remain committed to the re-election of Tinubu, claiming that his administration has made progress in key sectors.
He described Yari as a seasoned politician with the experience and network to lead the campaign structure effectively.
“We are also here to affirm and plead with Mr President to appoint a liberalised politician, a loyal and committed member of the Nigerian state, a critical stakeholder for his re-election in 2027, which happens to be Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari.
“Who else would be better suited to manage his campaign structure to ensure that, yes, we achieve the exact victory for President Tinubu, if not AA Yari?” he added.
Also, the deputy national chairman of the Coalition of APC Support Group, Chief Seiyefa Sieri-Bapaganyo, said Yari’s track record in public service makes him suitable for the role.
“AA Yari has a reputation that precedes him. A man who has served in the House of Representatives and twice as governor of Zamfara State is a square peg in a square hole. He can lead the campaign of our dear President… to its success,” he said.
Similarly, the South-West representative of the network, Pastor Tope Fatue Ebenezer, described Yari as a capable leader with wide experience in governance and politics.
“When we look today at Senator Yari, we observe that he has a wealth of experience. He is very fit to handle this position… He has never failed and can never fail us,” he stated.
