The Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Musa (rtd.), has said he will continue to work for the success of Nigeria, while calling on Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Musa spoke in Kaduna during a meeting with local government coordinators of GCG Musawah 4 PBAT 2027, a political mobilisation group supporting the re-election of Tinubu and Uba Sani.
According to a statement signed by the secretary of the group, James Swam, the meeting brought together the group’s leadership, coordinators from the 23 local government areas of Kaduna State and representatives of more than 300 affiliated support and interest groups.

Addressing the gathering, Musa urged members of the group to remain committed to mobilising support for Tinubu’s re-election, saying Nigerians must work together to build a stronger country.

“I will continue to work hard for Nigeria to succeed,” the minister said.
He added, “We should remain determined to build this country because together we are stronger as a nation.”

Musa also called for religious tolerance, national unity and peaceful coexistence, recalling his childhood experience in Sokoto, where he said he grew up alongside Muslims.

“I grew up in Sokoto, there is no way I can object to any religion,” he said.
The minister recalled participating in Sallah celebrations with his Muslim friends and neighbours as a child.
“I remember that during Sallah, as children, we were the ones who would hold the ram to be slaughtered,” he said.

Musa said Nigeria had the human and material resources needed for national development, but stressed the need for unity and collective commitment.
“God put us in Nigeria to build this country, and we have the capacity to do it, both in human and material resources,” he said.

He urged members of the group and other Nigerians to regard nation-building as a collective responsibility, saying progress would require unity and determination.

The national coordinator of the movement, Amb. Polycarp Gankon, a former 2019 governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Kaduna State, thanked the minister for his support and interaction with the group’s coordinators and affiliated organisations.

The group said it has established structures across Kaduna State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
