The Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) has called on all its members to recognize the critical role of credible leadership in shaping the future of the nation by ensuring that they obtained their voters’ registration cards ready to participate actively in the electoral process at all levels.
ECWA made the call in a communique issued at the end of its 73rd General Church Council (GCC) meeting held in Jos the Plateau state capital at the weekend.
The communique which was signed by Rev Dr. Job Bagat president and Rev. Dr. Ayuba Asheshe, secretary respectively encourages members who are gifted, and want to contest for any electives position in 2027 to step forward and engage responsibly.
The Council noted that the absence of principled and value-driven individuals in the political space often creates room for poor governance and leadership deficits.
ECWA also called on electoral umpire institutions to conduct their responsibilities with the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and fairness, thereby strengthening public confidence in the electoral process and its outcomes.
“While encouraging active participation, the Council strongly advises all members to conduct themselves in a peaceful, lawful, and civil manner, avoiding all forms of violence, misconduct, or actions that could undermine the unity and stability of the nation,” it stated.
The communique urged all members to remain prayerful and discerning, trusting God to guide the nation toward righteous leadership and sustainable development.
It further called on all members of ECWA to remain steadfast in faith, unity, and commitment to the mission of the church, while actively contributing to national peace, development, and righteousness.
