A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Temitope Kasali, has declared that Ogun State needs visionary and experienced leadership to consolidate ongoing development, throwing his weight behind Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, for the 2027 governorship election.

Kasali said his endorsement of the senator was based on what he described as Adeola’s proven record of public service, legislative experience and commitment to the welfare of the people, rather than mere political considerations.

In a statement titled “Why I Stand with Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi),” Kasali described the 2027 election as a defining moment for Ogun State, urging citizens to prioritise competence, integrity, vision and proven leadership when choosing the state’s next governor.

“The destiny of a people is not determined by chance, but by the wisdom of the choices they make when history presents them with an opportunity,” he said.

According to him, supporting Adeola represents an investment in a “New Ogun” driven by purposeful leadership and sustainable development.

Kasali noted that the senator had earned public confidence through years of service, citing his contributions to education, youth empowerment, infrastructure, healthcare and community development as evidence of his capacity to govern the state effectively.

He said, “Leadership earns respect through service. Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola has built a reputation as a dedicated public servant whose achievements demonstrate that leadership is best measured by results and positive impact on people’s lives.”

He further argued that leadership should extend beyond political campaigns and electoral victories, stressing that true leaders unite people, inspire hope, make difficult decisions in the public interest and create opportunities for future generations.

“I believe Ogun State deserves leadership that combines experience with innovation, humility with courage, and vision with the ability to deliver measurable results,” he added.

Kasali also called for continuity in governance, saying successive administrations should sustain worthwhile projects while introducing fresh initiatives that advance development.

He expressed confidence that Adeola possesses the capacity to build on the achievements of the current administration and lead Ogun State into what he described as a new era of growth and prosperity.

The APC chieftain also backed Governor Dapo Abiodun for the Ogun East Senatorial District seat after the completion of his tenure as governor, saying the governor’s experience would strengthen the state’s representation at the National Assembly.

“I also believe that His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, still has valuable experience to offer. His representation of Ogun East Senatorial District in the Senate would ensure continuity in service and strengthen Ogun State’s voice at the national level,” he said.

Kasali urged eligible residents to obtain their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) and actively participate in the democratic process, encouraging them to make informed choices based on competence, character and vision.

“Our votes should reflect our hopes for a stronger economy, better education, quality healthcare, improved infrastructure, youth empowerment and lasting prosperity,” he stated.

He maintained that his support for Adeola and his backing for Abiodun’s proposed senatorial ambition reflected his belief that continuity, experience and purposeful leadership remain critical to the state’s future.

“This is not simply about supporting individuals; it is about supporting a future where development continues, opportunities expand and every community benefits from responsible governance. The New Ogun begins with the right choice,” Kasali said.
