Addressing a large gathering in Oromurhu-Orogun in Ughelli North local government area, Omo-Agege disclosed that he has formally accepted the call by his constituents and supporters to contest once again for the Delta Central Senatorial seat.

“Yesterday, I ascended, yielded to the sustained appeals and yearnings of our people by offering myself once again as a candidate for the 2027 senatorial election to represent Delta Central.

He held that his appearance at the event was not to make a fresh declaration, just as his decision and declaration had already been publicly announced earlier.

“I did not come here today to make any new declaration, that declaration was made yesterday and I only deemed it necessary to return home and personally express my appreciation to you all for your support.

“I was profoundly surprised by the massive show of solidarity. Our brothers and sisters from Delta Central, as well as those from Delta north and Delta south, came out in their numbers to receive me at the airport and accompanied me to my ancestral home. I am truly grateful.” he said.

Also, Senator Dafinone Ede’s declaration to seek re-election next year at Oharisi Primary School, Ughelli venue of the declaration, drew widespread support from party leaders, stakeholders and supporters, who thonged the event.

Dafinone expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support, emphasizing his belief that leadership is rooted in service, integrity, and accountability, values he said were instilled in him by his late father, Senator David Dafinone.

Reflecting on his tenure, the lawmaker highlighted key achievements, including empowerment programmes, support for small businesses, provision of electricity transformers, establishment of ICT centres in schools, and medical outreach initiatives that have benefited thousands across the district.

He also pointed to ongoing advocacy for strategic infrastructure projects such as the Sapele Seaport, improved road networks, and broader economic development initiatives aimed at positioning Delta Central for growth.

He commended their policies, describing them as bold steps toward economic recovery and sustainable development.

“Today, I stand before you to formally declare my intention to seek re-election to the Senate. This journey is not about me, it is about our future. Together, we will do more, create jobs, empower our youths, strengthen education, and build a stronger economy for our people” he stated.
