Former Kaduna State governor, Sen. Ahmed Makarfi, has met with the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senators, House of Representatives and State Assembly Members to strategise ahead of the 2027 elections.
Makarfi, former acting national chairman and Ex-secretary PDP board of trustees (BoT), belongs to Kabiru Taminu Turaki ‘s-led PDP national leadership.
Makarfi, who announced the meeting on his verified Facebook page, which was held behind closed doors in Kaduna on Sunday, said they resolved to team up to defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming polls.
It will be recalled that the senator representing Kaduna South senatorial District, Sunday Marshall Katung, alongside some House of Representatives and State Assembly members elected under the PDP, recently defected to the APC.
However, Makarfi wrote, “Today, January 18th 2026, I had a consultative meeting with our PDP elected members of the National and State Assembly. We resolved to work together with all other State and National leaders as we march towards 2027,” he said.
