Anambra State Governor and leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chukwuma Soludo, has pledged his party’s support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid, declaring that APGA would campaign for him “24/7” ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Soludo made the pledge on Wednesday at the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2027 Presidential Campaign Council at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where he appeared as Anambra State campaign coordinator.

Despite APGA being outside the ruling APC, the governor assured Tinubu of his party’s backing, saying the support was based on its belief in the President’s leadership and policy direction.

“Count on us, the All Progressives Grand Alliance, 24/7,” Soludo told Tinubu. “We are with you because we believe.”

The governor expressed confidence in Tinubu’s return for a second term, arguing that the next phase of his administration should focus on accelerating Nigeria’s transformation from economic stability and reforms to shared prosperity.

“We are talking about when you get into the second term,” he said, adding that the priority should be accelerating the transformation process.

Soludo described Tinubu as a symbol of Nigeria’s unity, security and shared prosperity, saying these values informed APGA’s decision to support his re-election bid.

He also defended the President’s economic reform agenda, acknowledging the difficulties associated with the policies but insisting that they were necessary.

“The path you have chosen, that you have had the courage to take, is the difficult but necessary path,” the governor said.

According to Soludo, a second term for Tinubu would provide an opportunity to consolidate the gains of the reforms and advance what he described as “pragmatic progressivism.”

He argued that the administration should be allowed to build on its existing policies rather than abandon them.

“There is no way you change a winning team,” he added. “If it is not broken, why mend it?”
