A group in Ondo State, Progressives Network for Tinubu (PNT),  has assured President Bola Tinubu of securing for him at least 80 per cent of the total votes in the 2027 presidential election.

The group lauded Tinubu for bringing Nigeria to a turning point within 27 months of his administration. It highlighted the president’s courage in removing the fuel subsidy and floating the naira as landmark policies demonstrating clear leadership.

Speaking in Akure, the Ondo State capital, during the launching of the group, the director-general, Pastor Olumide Obadele, said, “Tinubu is not a trial-and-error leader; he knows his onions.”

While acknowledging the minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji Ojo’s “strategic and immeasurable support,” Obadele described his role as “unquantifiable.”

He said, ” As a people with a strong belief in party structure and respect for leadership, we have duly informed the Ondo State leadership of the All Progressives Congress through the State party Chairman, Engr Ade Adetimehin, of our existence, as well as officially informed the office of the Executive Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, about our operations in the State.

“Our conviction to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for a second term in office stemmed from his ability to bring Nigeria to a turning point in just 27 months in the saddle of leadership. His audacity to remove fuel subsidy and courage to float the naira, among several other major policy decisions, were characteristic of a leader with a clear definition of where he is going and knowing the path that leads there. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not a trial-and-error leader; he knows his onions.

“As it stands today, we can say that a prosperous Nigeria that we have dreamt about for many years is no longer a dream, as we have found in him a leader with the required capacity to take us to the Dreamland.

“As a group, our approach embraces people from other parties and even those without any party affiliation but with firm belief and conviction in the re-election of President Tinubu. This informed the choice of Comrade Alfred Akinuli, a Governorship candidate of Action Alliance in the 2024 Governorship election in Ondo State and the current chairman of the party, as the Deputy Director General of the group.

“Our group is a blend of old and new politicians, regular and unconventional, veterans and newbies. This will make a winning combination and serve as an impetus to reach our goals and attain our target. Our vision is clear, and we are not in competition with anyone or any group. With time, our work will speak for us as we traverse the length and breadth of Ondo State, preaching only one gospel- the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“In 2023, Ondo State gave President Bola Ahmed Tinubu 67% of total votes cast, which translated to the highest in the entire South West region, but in 2027, we shall work with the leadership of the party and other sister support groups to retain our South West ranking with nothing less than 80% of total votes.”
