An eighteen years old man, Solomon Sunday, has been remanded by a Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State capital over alleged rape of a minor.

The Court ordered Sunday to be remanded at the Correctional Centre for allegedly defiling a 2-year-old child.

The prosecutor, Inspector Olasunkanmi Bankole said the defendant allegedly committed the offence within the Ado-Ekiti Magisterial District on August 24, 2025.

Bankole informed the court that the offence was punishable under Section 31 of the Child Rights Law of Ekiti State, 2021.

The Prosecutor maintained that there was probable cause to order the remand of the defendant.

The prosecutor added that the defendant was reasonably suspected to have committed the offence of rape on the victim.
