Nigerian‑English footballer Bukayo Saka has lashed out at Arsenal’s long‑time critics after the club clinched the English Premier League (EPL) title. The Gunners were crowned champions of England on Tuesday when Manchester City drew 1–1 with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, handing Arsenal an unassailable four‑point lead with one match left.

Saka, the 24‑year‑old England international of Nigerian descent and a product of Arsenal’s academy, reflected on the past 22 years during which fans endured taunts and ridicule. “Light that up! 22 years, they were laughing and joking, but they’re not laughing anymore. It’s going to be shining bright,” he said, celebrating the club’s first league title since the “Invincibles” season of 2003/04.

Arsenal’s players watched City’s match at the club’s training centre, turning it into a celebratory watch party as the final whistle confirmed their triumph. The Gunners’ campaign is not yet over, with the UEFA Champions League final against Paris Saint‑Germain scheduled for May 30 in Budapest, where Arsenal will aim for their maiden UCL crown.
