The Kogi Projector for Good Governance (KPGG) has held the fourth edition of its free medical outreach in Ogori-Magongo local government Area of Kogi State, with over 225 residents benefitting from the exercise.

The initiative, which was part of the organisation’s community development efforts, provided free medical screenings, consultations and basic healthcare services to the residents, particularly those with limited access to quality medical care

Medical professionals and volunteers at the outreach conducted health checks and offered guidance on healthy living, drawing commendation from the beneficiaries who described the programme as timely and impactful.

Delivering a health talk during the event, Dr Adebisi Alabi stressed the importance of regular medical check-ups, especially for conditions such as diabetes and hypertension.

He warned that undetected health issues could be life-threatening and urged the residents to adopt preventive measures through early diagnosis and healthy lifestyles.

According to him, poor dietary habits, including excessive consumption of junk food and carbohydrates, are the major contributors to the rising cases of diabetes, adding that such conditions can be effectively managed when detected early.

On the success of the outreach, the director-general of KPGG, Isah David Ohinoyi, expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to impact lives through the programme. He also appreciated the state government for providing a peaceful environment that supports humanitarian initiatives.

Ohinoyi further commended the organisation’s Board of Trustees and staff for their dedication and commitment, noting that their efforts were instrumental to the outreach’s success.

He reaffirmed KPGG’s commitment to promoting the welfare of the people and encouraged partnerships with non-governmental organisations, political leaders and other stakeholders to expand similar interventions to underserved communities in the state.
