Security forces have reportedly eliminated four bandits and rescued two abduction victims in Aboki community of Kaiama local government area of Kwara State.
According to sources, security forces were immediately mobilised following local reports of kidnapping incident in the community on Tuesday night.
“Five armed bandits attacked the community to kidnap people. They even took one Alhaji Tukur, but the security agents were able to neutralise four of the bandits, while one of them escaped with gunshot injuries. Alhaji Tukur and another victim were freed without injuries,” a local source said.
LEADERSHIP reports that the security forces have significantly scaled up response time as government doubles down in the anti-kidnapping campaign nationwide.
The development comes as a new army battalion has been approved for Omu – Aran in Ifelodun local government area of Kwara State; a strategic step to strengthen the campaign against terrorism and banditry in Kwara south axis.
