President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Alhaji Bello Abdullahi Bodejo, has been in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for four days after his arrest in Jalingo, Taraba State.

Alhaji Bodejo, who recently declared his intention to contest the Taraba Central Senatorial seat, had reportedly purchased the All Progressives Congress (APC) expression of interest and nomination forms before his arrest.

He was said to have consulted widely with the zone and across the state for his ambition.

Sources close to the Miyetti Allah leader said he is being interrogated by the anti-graft agency over allegations bordering on money laundering and terrorism-related offences.

His arrest came at a time when the APC is conducting screening exercises for aspirants ahead of the 2027 general elections.

A source familiar with the development disclosed that associates of Bodejo from Abuja and Taraba State were engaging EFCC officials regarding his possible release.

According to the source, efforts were also being made to work with the APC leadership on arrangements concerning his political participation pending the outcome of investigations.

“If he is not found guilty of the allegations against him, he is expected to be released to continue with his political activities,” the source said.

The source further described the development as an attempt to frustrate Bodejo’s political ambitions, though the EFCC has yet to officially comment on the matter.

“Whether the arrest is politically motivated or purely part of ongoing security investigations remains unclear to us,” the source said.

According to the source, Bodejo might be released from the EFCC custody tomorrow if he is not found wanting of the charges levelled against him.

He added that, should it be confirmed that they were not guilty as claimed, they will press charges against the EFCC for the damage to Bodejo.Bodejo had previously been arrested in 2024 by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) over allegations linked to the establishment of an illegal vigilante group in Nasarawa State.

He was arrested at the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore headquarters located at Tundun Maliya Cattle Market along the Abuja-Keffi Expressway in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
