Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Enforcement Agency, Task Force, has arrested four suspects linked to the August 13 attack on a Bus Rapid Transit Bus en- route Orile-Iganmu to Alaba Suuru on the Lagos Badagry Expressway.

Addressing journalists at the Task Force yard, Oshodi, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Operations, Olusola Oyewole noted that men of the Task Force swung into action on the same day and arrested one Mohammed Alli, 30, and three others, while some suspects are still at large.

Oyewole condemned the act in its entirety, stated that the suspects would be charged to court, and warned criminally minded persons in the state to desist or face the full wrath of the law.

According to him, the suspects who perpetrated the attack were a seven-man gang, and others are still at large, adding that the suspects allegedly vandalised the BRT Bus, attacked the passengers, maimed and robbed them of their valuables.

Oyewole held that the offence was committed in broad daylight and is highly condemnable, adding that the suspects will be prosecuted accordingly to deter others.

He said, “On August 13, 2024, a group of suspected hoodlums attacked a BRT bus along Orile, precisely Alaba Suru on Badagry Expressway. Seven suspects connected with the criminal act have been apprehended by men of Lagos State Task Force under the directive of the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Fayoade Adegoke”.

The names of the suspects were given as Ibrahim Lawal, 35,  Abati Daniel, 20, llesanmi Kazeem, 32, and Muhammed Ali, 30.
