40 Years In Politics, I’ve Not Seen President With Better Plan Than Tinubu- Masari

Former Speaker of the House of Representatives and ex-Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, has said that in nearly four decades of active participation in Nigerian politics, he has not seen a president with a better plan for the country than President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Masari made the assertion in a video shared by Hausa-language media outfit, HM Arewa, on Facebook on Tuesday.

The former governor was reportedly speaking to a group of women at a recent public function in Kaduna when he praised Tinubu’s vision for Nigeria.

“Even if I were asked to swear, on my age and my political involvement for almost 40 years, I can confidently say I have never seen a president with better plans to make Nigeria great than Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I have simply never seen anyone like him,” Masari said.

He also dismissed claims that the Tinubu administration had achieved little since assuming office, arguing that similar criticisms had been levelled against previous administrations.

According to him, former President Olusegun Obasanjo faced accusations of tribalism and sectionalism after the end of his first term in 1999, while former President Goodluck Jonathan also faced similar attacks during his administration.

“The people who claim that Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done nothing are the kind of people who never appreciate when someone is doing well,” he said.

Masari added that some of those who criticised previous administrations, as well as people influenced by them, were now using similar tactics against Tinubu.

The former governor further accused some critics of exploiting religious sentiments for political purposes, questioning the basis for associating a particular faith with one ethnic group.

He urged the women to use their influence within their families and communities to counter what he described as divisive rhetoric ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Masari described those promoting such rhetoric as “deeply selfish” individuals and called on Nigerians to resist attempts to exploit ethnic and religious differences for political purposes.
