Approximately 400 U.S.-bound migrants were discovered in three buses abandoned on a highway in Veracruz, southeastern Mexico.

A civil defense official confirmed the incident, which highlighted the ongoing challenges in the region.

The migrants reportedly came from several countries, including Cuba and Haiti. Among them were children and a pregnant woman. Some of the travellers required treatment for dehydration before being handed over to Mexican immigration authorities for further assistance.

Veracruz has seen similar incidents in recent times, where migrants, hoping to reach the United States, have been left stranded. This underscores the dangers many face in their journey, and the increasing challenges for authorities handling such situations.
