Katsina State Police Command has said terrorists attacked Sayaya village of Matazu local government area of the state and killed five people.

The police spokesperson, Aliyu Abubakar Sadiq, disclosed this in a statement he issued to journalists in Katsina yesterday.

He said, “On November 6, 2023, at about 0055 hours, armed bandits in their numbers, wielding dangerous weapons such as AK-47 rifles and shooting sporadically, attacked Sayaya village, Matazu LGA, Katsina State.

“Upon receipt of the report, operatives were mobilised to the scene, where they engaged the bandits in a gun duel and repelled the attack.

“However, five people were shot dead, two were injured and five others were kidnapped by the assailants. The injured were rushed to the hospital for immediate medical attention,” he said.
