5,349 New Teachers Commence Induction Training In Abia

Ahead of the beginning of the 2025/2026 academic session, 5,349 newly recruited public school teachers in Abia State have commenced a 12-day induction training.

‎Special adviser on Basic and Secondary Education to the governor, Kenechukwu Nwosu, stated this to newsmen in Umuahia, the state capital.

‎He described the training as a significant milestone for the state’s education sector as it marks a new chapter in it’s commitment to quality education and teacher development.

Nwosu said it will equip them with modern pedagogical skills, classroom management strategies, digital literacy, inclusive education techniques, and STEAM-based methodologies

His words “This initiative underscores the administration’s focus on enhancing teacher capacity and ensuring globally competitive instruction for learners across the state.”

According to the adviser, the training, which is facilitated by trained Lead Master Trainers and a consultancy firm, will be conducted in the capital and Aba.

‎He added: “With this, the state is positioning itself as a model for teacher recruitment, training, and retention, ensuring that no child is left behind in the pursuit of quality education.”
