60-yr-old American Woman On Visit To Nigerian Boyfriend Dies In Delta

The Delta State Police Command said it was investigating the death of a 60-year-old American woman, Jacqueline Bolling Elton, who died mysteriously while on a visit to his Nigerian boyfriend in Warri.

Elton was said to have given up in the house of her 39-year-old lover, Alawode Olaide.

The deceased was said to have arrived Warri on September 15, 2025, to spend time with Olaide who she met on the social media from where they became friends.

Reports said the guest suddenly took ill on September 29, around 3pm, and was rushed to a private hospital in Otokutu, near Warri.

“She was later referred to Central Hospital, Warri, where doctors confirmed her dead on arrival.

“Her remains have been deposited at the Central Hospital Mortuary for autopsy. The incident was reported to police authorities, who visited the scene and placed Olaide in custody for interrogation,” a source disclosed.

Another source said the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.

When contacted, Delta Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the death and the arrest of the suspect.

Edafe said investigation was ongoing on the matter.
