8,000 Athletes To Participate In MTN Champs Season 2 Tourney

Arrangements are in top gear for 8000 athletes drawn from the six geo-political zones of Nigeria to participate in MTN Champs Season 2 Tournament in Calabar.

Chief Marketing Officer of MTN Adia Sowho, stated this Monday in Calabar while answering questions from Journalists.

Adia stated that out of this total number, about 2,300 came from Calabar alone.

She stressed that Calabar holds a special place in the history of athletics, saying athletes from the host city are fully prepared to showcase their  culmination of months of hard work, dedication, and sacrifice.

Adia averred  that seventy athletes selected from the previous four locations will participate in the Calabar Grand Finale as Team MVP, sponsored by MTN.

The MTN chief marketing officer maintained that the  grand finale is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our athletes, coaches, and organizers as well as  a chance to recognize the countless hours of training, moments of triumph, and  bonds forged through a shared love of athletics.

She stressed that the program will pave way for the  future, nurturing talents and providing the support they need to reach their full potential.

The four days championship which commences on the 30th of April will have six championships go on simultaneously.

In her remarks, the Cross River State Commissioner for Sports Development, Mrs. Agnes Atsu, stressed that the state government  is ready to  host  the tournament in the state as the government is fully prepared for collaboration to facilitate the tournament.
