New Appointees Must Be Transformation Agents – Ominiwe

Ahead of the inauguration of the president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on May 29, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and renowned educationist, Dr. Saka Ominiwe  Ibraheem, has said above political inclination and loyalty, new political appointees must have the technical knowhow to transform the country.

Speaking with newsmen in Ibadan yesterday, he emphasised that apart from the fact that ministers to be appointed need to be 100 percent loyal to the president, the appointees must to a large extent have the technical know-how.

Ominiwe who is the president, Educational Legacy College (ELC), Ibadan said what the country needs to surmount its current challenges is good and competent leadership in different sectors of the economy.

The educationist who has offered himself for the service of the country urged Nigerians to be prepared to serve creditably in different portfolios that would be assigned to them.

Asked when given the opportunity what he would do differently he said, “I promise to turn our Education, Agriculture sector of our economy to another gold mine for Nigerians and Nigeria without preventing the less privileged from accessing qualitative and affordable education by God’s Grace.

“I have the wherewithal to achieve these goals and I have prepared working action plans for these goals”, he declared.

The party chieftain who claimed to be loyal and patriotic supporter of the President-elect, prayed that almighty Allah will select for him, selfless, patriotic, go-getters and God fearing people that would make his desires to bequeath a worthy leadership with unprecedented monumental achievements to the country.
