Youth leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have said Sen. Godswill Akpabio would bring transformational change to the 10th National Assembly if he becomes senate president.

A communique signed by the FCT APC youth leader,  Hon. Idris Faruq, at the end of the youth leaders’ forum meeting in Abuja said the choice of the National Working Committee of the APC in zoning the senate presidency to the south -south which favors Akpabio was a good step in the right direction.

They said Akpabio deserves the seat due to his good track record as former governor of Akwa-Ibom state and former minister of Niger Delta.

According to the communique, senator Akpabio’s choice as senate president is not a misplaced one, judging from his pedigree.

Matawalle’s $2m Bribe Allegation: We Will Not Bandy Words With Suspect – EFCC

By EJIKE EJIKE, Abuja

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says it will not join words with a suspect being investigated in the case of an alleged N70 billion fraud.

The EFCC stated this after Bello Muhammed Matawalle, governor of Zamfara State, alleged the chairman of the EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa, demanded $2billion bribe from him.

EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, in a statement said; “The attention of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has been drawn to a trending interview granted to the Hausa Service of the British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC, by Bello Muhammed Matawalle, governor of Zamfara State, where he allegedly made wild bribery allegations against the executive chairman of the commission, Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa

“Matawalle’s recourse to mudslinging is symptomatic of a drowning man clutching at straws. But despite the irritation of his phantom claims, the commission will not be drawn into a mud fight with a suspect under its investigation for corruption and unconscionable pillage of the resources of his state.

“If Matawalle will be taken seriously, he should go beyond sabre-rattling by spilling the beans – provide concrete evidence as proof of his allegations.”
