The Senate chief whip, Orji Uzor Kalu, commissioned the outlet. He urged the federal government to create special funds to support entrepreneurs in the country, as part of moves to cushion the biting economic situation.

Speaking to journalists at the launch, the chief executive officer of Tastia Restaurant and Bakery, Kester Agwu disclosed that over N500 million was invested into its seventh outlet and it is now the largest restaurant in Abuja.

The deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Idris Wase, Kelvin Chukwu, the Senator-elect, Enugu East were also at the event with several lawmakers.

The restaurant served free meals to over 50 people during its launch at Wuse 2 in Abuja.

The general manager of the new outlet, Thelma Elijah told LEADERSHIP that the restaurant will be operating à la carte menu as opposed to the usual QRS offered at other Tastia outlets.

According to her, the free meals provided for the first 50 people at the launch was a way to give back to loyal customers who had shown support during the past three years of its operations.
