The National Chairman of the Action Peoples Party (APP), Barr. Uche Nnadi, has said the party will announce its preferred presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections before the end of November.
Nnadi disclosed this after the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja, where members deliberated on its political direction and preparations for the 2027 elections.
He said the party was considering major political contenders, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, before making its final decision.
According to him, the party’s preferred candidate will be formally unveiled at its forthcoming National Convention, where its position on the 2027 presidential election will also be communicated.
Nnadi further announced that the party would hold its National Convention and Campaign Rally in Kaduna for the Northern region and Owerri for the Southern region.
He explained that the events would feature the formal presentation of the party’s flag and provide an opportunity to unveil its political direction ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The APP chairman stressed that the party’s leadership was committed to an inclusive decision-making process, noting that its eventual position would reflect the collective views of stakeholders.
He added that the party was working towards building consensus among its members as it prepares to participate in the forthcoming electoral cycle.
