Katsina State government through its affordable housing scheme has constructed 2,218 houses since its creation till date.
The general manager of Katsina State Housing Authority, Auwalu Abubakar, revealed this at the official commissioning of 185 Kofar Yan Daka housing estate constructed by Governor Aminu Bello Masari and inaugurated by Jigawa State governor Muhammad Bagudu Abubakar, yesterday.
He acknowledged the support the agency received from Governor Aminu Bello Masari’s administration in the past eight years for the execution of housing projects for the people of the state.
Abubakar said, “This special and watershed event for the commissioning of 185 Housing Units initiated and constructed by the Katsina State Government under the able leadership of Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari at the total cost of N2.866 billion, comprising 120 number units of three-bedroom houses and 65 number units of two-bedroom houses and thus includes infrastructural facilities such as road networks, water, wiring and electrification installations.”
Also, Governor Masari reaffirmed that the 185 houses were allocated to the people of Katsina State, especially the civil servants at a 35 percent subsidised rate, adding that the two-bedroom flats cost N9 million while the three-bed room flat cost N11 million.
