Distraught family members of Joy Alohan of Egor Quarters in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State, have raised the alarm over consistent threats by a suspected deadly cult group to wipe out the family members, calling on security agencies to come to their rescue.

Speaking to journalists in Benin City, the State capital on behalf of the family, Joy Alohan, in an affidavit she deposed to, appealed to relevant government authorities to protect the family as they now live in perpetual fear.

According to Joy, trouble was said to have started for the Alohans when on December 12, 2022, Lucky Alohan engaged in an argument with his friend identified as Victor Enoma, which led to a fight.

She narrated in the affidavit that during the fight, Lucky pushed his friend, Emoma, who unfortunately hit his head against the wall and then fell on the ground, adding that Enoma was immediately rushed to the nearby hospital where he was confirmed dead.

In the affidavit, Joy said “when the information of the death of Victor Enoma got to his family, two of his brothers came to my family house to look for my brother Lucky, luckily my brother was not at home, so they destroyed the Alohan family house and left a note of warning, saying that whenever or wherever they see members of the Alohan family that they will kill them and make sure they wipe out the entire family.

“That, they belong to Black Axe Confraternity and that even the Police cannot help us because they must avenge their brother’s death no matter how long it takes. They also mentioned my Brother Alohan Osayande’s name that he should never in his entire life be seen anywhere in Nigeria because if they see him, they will make sure he die.”

The affidavit further added, “that the life of my entire family is at risk and we are scared of coming out of our hiding because of this matter.”

As of the time of this report, the whereabouts of Lucky was not knowm. There was also apprehension whether the cultists have been able to see and kill him since nobody knows his whereabouts now.

Joy added that the incident had been reported to the Edo State Police Command.

However, a Police source, who craved anonymity, said the matter was under investigation.
