In a homily he delivered yesterday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Okpanam, Oshimili north local government area of Delta State, he asserted that “whatever we know that is wrong, we should avoid it.”

The Holy Mass was to thank God by Mrs Marian Nweke, a journalist with Delta Broadcasting Service, Warri, who was one of the former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s press crew, for surviving an auto-accident.

He urged Christians, to serve God with whatever they have and wherever they find themselves and engage in positive activities and live like Jesus Christ.

“We thank God for the life of our sister, Marian, but if you have survived from January, you have more reasons to say, God, who am I? Thank you.

“No matter what you have experienced, be grateful to God; no matter, what you encounter, call His name with faith and He will answer you.

“There are lots of fake things in our market, that is sin, some people are selling expired drugs, that is sin, you should avoid such lifestyle for you to have peace of mind.

“It is wrong; you that is engaging in such action, would you say that you are not committing sin? Do not allow sin to grow in your life; say no to sin; wickedness in our society.

“If you have survived a fatal accident, you will know that you cannot thank God enough for His protection. When you see things that happens on the road, you will say, God thank you.

“It is important for you to change your lifestyle, change your associations and know how to move forward for better results. God answers prayers. When Christians call the name of God in faith, He answers.

“Never underestimate the power of simple prayers, sometimes, you shout the name of Jesus in faith and things happen for your good,” Fr. Malachi said.

Nweke was accompanied by her husband, Stephens, family members, colleagues, and friends during the thanksgiving.
