Thunderstorm Kills 3, Injures 6 In Kebbi

Few days after a windstorm destroyed several houses in Zauro town of Birnin Kebbi local government area of Kebbi State, a thunderstorm has killed three people and injured six others.

The incident occurred during a heavy downpour in Alle-Kwara in Lailaba district under Argungu local government area of the state.

An eyewitness in the village, Yahaya Danjada Argungu, said the incident occurred on Sunday night when the people were asleep.

He told LEADERSHIP yesterday in Argungu that those who died during the incident had been buried according to Islamic injunctions at the main cemetery of Alle-Kwara village and those who sustained injuries were receiving treatment at Argungu General Hospital.

The deputy governor, Abubakar Umar Tafidan Kebbi visited the village and condoled with the families of the victims on behalf of Governor Nasir Idris.

He donated N3.5 million to the families of those who lost their lives and to those who sustained injuries.
