Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province Of Enugu, His Grace, Emmanuel Chukwuma has charged government officials at all levels to reduce the number of vehicles in their convoys.

The Bishop of Anglican Diocese of Enugu gave the charge during the thanksgiving service of the 3rd Session of the 18th Synod of the diocese held at the Cathedral of Good Shepherd, Enugu.

He said it was not proper for a government official to have so many vehicles in their convoys despite the high cost of fuel.

The cleric reiterated his earlier suggestion that election tribunals should be made up of retired judges, adding that the retired judges will dispense justice without fear or favour.

He urged Nigerians to shun religious bigotry and called on security operatives to fight hard to ensure the end of security challenges, especially kidnapping in the Southeast.

The archbishop also urged relevant authorities to ensure improved welfare packages for police operatives, stating that most policemen are hungry.

The cleric, however, expressed dismay over the increasing rate of extortion of people by policemen, saying it was unfortunate that soldiers are also extorting people on the roads.

On the 2023 elections, he stated that evidence was available that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) failed the people but added that people are watching the judges of the tribunal in the case between the Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi and President Bola Tinubu.
