National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has pledged its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the progressive policy direction of the government would enhance the living standards of Nigerians.
The union in a statement signed by the duo of the national president, Alhaji Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa and the secretary-general, Comrade Asogwa Anthony Chukwudi encouraged well-meaning Nigerians to join hands with the present administration and support the progressive policy direction.
Baruwa said, “The country is definitely on the path of recovery and prosperity. We the members of NURTW are solidly behind this administration and will always give our contributions and suggestions to ensure the building of a strong and prosperous nation.
“We also encourage all well-meaning Nigerians to join hands with this government to support the progressive policy direction of this administration as our country is definitely on the path of recovery and prosperity.”
It stated that they are aware of many challenges facing the country presently, ranging from economy to security, adding that it realizes that tough decisions and policies must be taken and put in place to set the country on path of sound recovery.
The union further stated that their unflinching support goes to Mr. President and his team because they are convinced that he has both the capacity and capability to turn around this country and deliver upon his campaign promises made to the nation.
“Needless to say is our decision to support the removal subsidy on premium motor spirit (PMS), unification and floating of the naira, suspension of the multiple taxation, opening of our borders for vehicle importations, the higher institution’s students’ loans scheme, and a host of others which are already setting the pace and policy directions of this administration,” the union said.
