Truck owners  at the Lagos seaports have written to the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdulahi Adamu, absolving the Lagos Party Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, of meddling in the affairs of road haulage operators in Lagos State.

The truck owners under the aegis of National Association Maritime Transport Operators (NAMTOP) affirmed that there was no interference by the leadership of the party in Lagos in the process that led to the emergence of the current leadership of the association.

The letter was copied to the Presidency, the governor of Lagos State, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Nigerian Shippers’ Council, Lagos State Police Command, Lagos State Ministry of Transportation and the Department of State Services (DSS).

The letter signed by NAMTOP’s Secretary, Bala Muhammed Sanni, and addressed to APC’s national chairman; Adamu, said the, “the allegation of interference is an attempt by someone already driven by pride, arrogance, lacking understanding of democratic tenets, knowledge of fundamental rights of choice and attempting to insult the sensibility of the majority.
