Islamic New Year: Gov Lawal Felicitates Zamfara Muslims

Governor Dauda Lawal has felicitated with Zamfara Muslims on the commemoration of the Islamic New Year 1445.

The governor, who wished Muslims in the State, Nigeria, and across the world a New Year filled with blessings of Allah (SWT), called for continuous prayers for the peace and prosperity of the State.

A statement on Wednesday, by the Spokesperson to the Governor, Sulaiman Bala Idris, said Governor Lawal tasked Muslims across the State to be steadfast in prayers.

He said: “The New Islamic Year represents the migration of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) from Makkah to Madinah. It is of great importance to Islam and Muslims.

“The migration marked the beginning of the Islamic calendar known as the Hijri calendar.

“We have a lesson to learn, hijra demonstrates that for people with faith, there is hope for ease after difficulties. Our Dear State should always be in our prayers.
