According to him, the task of repositioning the country required the prayers and support of devoted Christian women.

In a remark, the President, Abuja Archdiocesan, Catholic Women Organisation, Mrs Ebele Okoye, said the essence of the event was to seek divine intervention for Nigeria, most especially at this period when the country is facing series of challenges.

She said the irganisation has over the years contributed to the wellbeing of the less privileged in the country most especially in the areas of education, health, shelter and food, among others.

On her part, a former Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Dame Pauline Tallen, who was conferred with an award for outstanding support for women and the less-privileged, urged women not to relent in entrusting their ways and activities to divine direction and assistance.

She stressed the need for Government at all levels to be committed to women empowerment to enable them contribute to national economic development.

Also, two of the Awardees, Lady Felicity Ake and Mr Amadi Steve, commended the Organisation for the honour and called on women and men to be good planners in order to always succeed at homefront and their endeavours.

Highlights of the event were cultural performance, medical outreach, and donation of food items to the less-privileged.
