Consider Southern Kaduna For Ministerial Slot, Appointments, Group Tells Tinubu

A political pressure group under the aegis of Southern Kaduna Political Forum has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to consider the zone for a ministerial appointment.

The group also appealed for other plum appointments from both the state and federal governments alleging eight years of neglect.

The group in a statement signed by the national coordinator, Prince Josiah Luka Waje and the general secretary, Mallam Ibrahim Suleiman called on the President to nominate somebody from the zone to replace the nomination of former Governor Nasir El-Rufai.  

The statement explained that the previous Minister in the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was  from the Northern senatorial zone  hence it’s the turn of Southern Kaduna.

The group argued that Kaduna deserves two Ministerial position giving the historical backgrounds.

“In view of this poignant fact, Southern Kaduna is, therefore, the next priority zone for consideration of ministerial appointment in the present dispensation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu even if its only one slot that would be conceded to Kaduna state,” he said.

The Forum who noted that their zone was lagging behind in the areas of social amenities and infrastructural development accused the former governor from the state of neglecting Southern Kaduna  during the eight years of President Muhammadu Buhari and substantially concentrated on zone 1&2 alone.

He said,: “We strongly believe that no one can love and care for us better than a protagonist and major campaigner of Bola Ahmed Tinubu for President 2023, Dr Abdulmalik Durungwa, a strong believer of a united Nigeria , a hard working administrator per excellence, a former governorship aspirant and reliable Political partner of both Muslim and Christian.

“If Mr President will consider our nomination, Dr Abdulmalik Durungwa, we are certainly sure that the hope agenda of Mr President will show total inclusiveness and give Southern Kaduna a sense of belonging”

The added that considering Southern Kaduna, would “bridge the gaps of the high unemployment rate of our Women and Youth, social amenities and infrastructural deficit plaguing the zone”.

“For instance in the last eight years of President Muhammadu Buhari, we could not point to any significant benefits in Southern Kaduna from the previous Minister mentioned above other than too much concentrating on her zone ,Kaduna North Senatorial district alone.”

The Forum Coordinator Josiah said,”Be that as it may there is a need to inform this gathering that Governor Uba Sani , is  doing incredibly well for a start in Kaduna state in the last three months, he has generated investment to the state and is doing everything possible to unite the citizens.

“Nevertheless, for fundamental reasons, we want to strongly appeal for the support of our amiable and performing Governor Senator Uba Sani and other stakeholders to concede the coming ministerial slot to us in Southern Kaduna for us to further enjoy the dividends of democracy.“

Aside from the ministerial appointment, the Forum  also crave juicy appointments at the state and federal levels to complement their efforts in further developing their areas.

“We are equally pleading for juicy appointments at both state and federal levels in supporting our cause for better development in Southern Kaduna” he added.
