Suspected gunmen have killed an official of the Correctional Centre in Kwale, Ndokwa West local government area of Delta State and escaped with his motorcycle.

The victim, Mr Oghenekaro Araja, a 47-year-old man, was attacked and killed close to the Ogume junction axis of the town.

The incident may not be unconnected to the resurgence of motorcycle thieves who lurk in the area especially at night.

A reliable source said the deceased met his untimely death while using his motorcycle for commercial transportation purpose in the night at the close of work to make ends meet.

The state command police public relations officer, CSP Bright Efafe, confirmed the incident, saying, “Even though he was working there (the correctional centre), he was also a commercial motor cyclist (Okada rider).

“It is suspected that it was a passenger that did it to him. He hit him from behind and made away with his motorcycle. There was no injury.”
