Man Kills 2 Own Workers For ‘Money-making Rituals’ In Bauchi

A 40-year-old Ibrahim Umar has been arrested by the Bauchi State Police Command for killing two of his workers – Kabiru Idi, 36, and Bato Ali, 18 – for alleged money-making rituals.

The incident happened in Taranka community of Gamawa local government area of the State.

 

Reports indicated that the victims worked for the suspected killer, who hails from Dankunkuru village of Ungogo local government area of Kano State, on a casual basis producing charcoal in a commercial quantity.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Bauchi State Police Command, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, said the suspect has been arrested.

 

“On 10/09/2023 at about 0958hrs one Adamu Mohammed ‘m’ aged 57yrs of Taranka village Gamawa LGA, Bauchi State, reported at Gamawa Divisional Police Headquarters, that about one month ago, one Kabiru Idi ‘m’ aged 36yrs and Bato Ali ‘m’ aged 18yrs both of the same address were missing, one Ibrahim Umar ‘m’ aged 40yrs of Dankunkuru village Ungogo LGA Kano State, who came to the said Taranka village for charcoal business was suspected to have perfected the abduction and disappearance of the aforementioned persons.

 

“Upon receipt of the report, a team of detectives were quickly drafted to the scene and eventually arrested the suspect.

 

“During interrogation, the suspect confessed to have killed and buried the two casual workers in a shallow grave around the outskirts of the town. Consequently, the requisite coroner’s form was filled and the bodies were exhumed from the said grave for discreet investigation.

 

“These bodies were established to be those of the missing persons and are certified dead by the medical practitioner,” he said.

 

Wakil added that during a search at the suspect’s residence, one rubber gallon containing liquid substances suspected to be human blood was recovered from the accused’s residence.

 

He said the bodies of the deceased were handed over to their relatives for decent burial rites according to religious injunctions.

 

The PPRO said the investigation was still in progress to uncover the mystery behind the cruel act, adding that the suspect will be charged to court at the end of the investigation.
