Organisers of the 2026 All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT) have outlined catering and refreshment arrangements for visiting golfers and officials ahead of the continental championship scheduled for November 2 to 7 in Abuja.
Chairperson of the Catering and Refreshment Committee, Nana Abubakar, said provisions were being made for Nigerian delicacies, refreshments and entertainment during the tournament at the IBB International Golf and Country Club.
Abubakar, who is also Treasurer of the Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria (LGAN), said the committee was working to provide meals and refreshments for participants throughout the competition.
She explained that arrangements would cover golfers during practice sessions and competitive rounds, with refreshments available to help players cope with the demands of playing in potentially challenging weather conditions.
The committee is also planning welcome packages and reception arrangements for participating teams and other guests arriving in Nigeria.
Abubakar said the preparations were intended to introduce visitors to Nigerian cuisine and culture while ensuring that catering services did not disrupt the tournament schedule.
Nigeria will host the All Africa Challenge Trophy for the third time, having previously staged the competition at Ikoyi Club 1938 in Lagos in 1996 and the IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja in 2010.
About 30 African countries are expected to participate in the November championship, which brings together women golfers from across the continent.
The tournament is also expected to provide opportunities for cultural exchange among participating countries, alongside the competition for honours on the golf course.
