1 Injured As 2 Buildings Collapse In Lagos

One resident has been injured in a two-storey and four–storey building which collapsed in Lagos yesterday.

The buildings are located at 47 and 49 Oduntan Street in Ketu, Kosofe local government area of the state.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the four- storey building partially collapsed on Saturday evening before it finally caved in yesterday afternoon destroying another structure inside the compound.

The incident caused panic in the area forcing hundreds of families and individuals residing in the building to vacate the premises immediately.

The permanent secretary of the Lagos State Emergency ,Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, who confirmed the development, said, “Upon the arrival of the agency’s responders at the incident scene, a two-storey building and a four-storey building situated beside each other were found to have collapsed at the aforementioned address.
