The House also mandated the Committee on Police Affairs to liaise with the Nigeria Police Force to ensure a thorough and expedited investigation of the sad incident and report to the House within four weeks.

The resolutions followed the adoption of a motion of urgent public importance moved by Hon. Babajimi Benson (APC, Lagos) at plenary on Tuesday.

Moving the motion, Benson lamented the recent sad and sudden demise of Mohbad under questionable circumstances, saying he was a budding Nigerian youth that is thriving in the Nigerian music industry as well as in the international sphere.

The lawmaker said, the dead artise has been a source of inspiration and support to his family as well as a large number of youths across the country with songs like “Peace, Ask About Me, Feel Good, Blessing and several others.”

He expressed shock that the youthful and promising Nigerian youth died at a young age of 27 under questionable circumstances.

He commended the Nigeria Police Force for the measures taken so far to unravel the situation and bring any culprits to book.

Adopting the motion, the House observed one minute silence for the deceased Afrobeats singer.
