NANS Honours Firm For Providing Scholarships, Accommodation For Indigent Students

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has called on private sector and well-meaning Nigerians to support the education of indigent students through scholarships and provision of affordable housing to address the challenge of accommodation in tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

Director Welfare of NANS, Comrade Salahudeen Lukman, made the appeal while presenting award to the Chief Executive Officer of Nadkaz Nig Ltd, Engr Abdul-Raheem Kola Kazeem, for his outstanding contributions towards the development of education in Nigeria, especially in the area of provision of scholarships to indigent and vulnerable students as well as affordable housing scheme for students.

Lukman, who led other delegation of NANS including officials from National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS), to present the award to Nadkaz Nig Ltd CEO in Kwara State, commended Kazeem for his passion and interest in the development of education in Nigeria.

The student body disclosed that Engr Kazeem through his foundation, “Abdul Raheem Foundation” has built affordable student hostels at Federal Polytechnic Offa and Kwara State University Malate.

NANS said it was also happy that more 180 students have benefited from Nadkaz Nig Ltd scholarship programmes, especially vulnerable children courtesy of Abdul Raheem Foundation.

Director of Welfare NANS, Lukman, further revealed in addition to scholarships offered to students, the Foundation intervened in provision of instructional materials to basic education pupils as well renovation of schools in order to ensure conducive learning environment.

“This recognition was granted in light of Nadkaz Nig Ltd’s remarkable efforts in implementing an affordable housing scheme and their unwavering commitment to the emancipation of Nigerian students and youth from the shackles of mental slavery and poverty.

“The affordable housing scheme initiated by Nadkaz Nig Ltd has played a pivotal role in alleviating the housing crisis in Nigeria.

“By providing affordable and quality housing options, they have made it possible for many Nigerians to realize their dreams of owning a home. This initiative not only addresses a fundamental need but also promotes social and economic stability within the country,” Lukman stated.

He added, “recognizing that education is the key to breaking free from the chains of poverty and mental limitations, they have actively supported various educational initiatives.

“Through their affordable housing scheme and unwavering support for Nigerian students and youth, they have demonstrated a deep commitment to fostering positive change within the country.

“This award not only acknowledges their accomplishments but also serves as an inspiration for other organizations and individuals to actively participate in the betterment of society.

“Their affordable housing scheme has provided countless Nigerians with the opportunity to own homes, while their support for Nigerian students and youth has helped break the chains of poverty and mental slavery.

“This award serves as a reminder of the importance of collective efforts in shaping a better future for Nigeria, and it is a testament to Nadkaz Nig Ltd’s dedication to this cause”.
