The International Association Of World Peace Advocates IAWPA has announced that it will be honouring the President of Kenya His Excellency, William Ruto with a Global Peace Prize Award in recognition of his contributions to the promotion of peace and democracy in Africa.
William Ruto who came into office through the judgment of the Kenyan Supreme Court had since his assumption of office initiated policies and made pronouncements that has contributed to peace development in his home country as well as the Africans continent a stance which the International Association of World Peace Advocates IAWPA considers as vital to peace and stability of the continent.
IAWPA through its International Spokesman Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke said the presentation of the prestigious Global Peace Prize Award to His Excellency William Ruto, will take place in Canada as part of activities to celebrate the 2023 End of year Diplomatic Service in recognition of the Canadian Support for world peace considering it’s status as one of the founding members of the United Nations.
The statement by the IAWPA Spokesman acknowledged the contributions of Kenya which hosts the United Nations in Africa as well as the contributions of it’s current President who has been a pillar of support for the promotion of the activities of the United Nations in the African continent. The statement hailed President Ruto as a peace loving president who has opened up the country’s borders to peace loving persons. It said he has also promoted activities that has to do with climate change as well as hosting international events that promote the activities of the United Nations the most recent being the World Habita Assembly
The event in Canada which will be hosted by the Country Director of IAWPA in Canada Amb. Dr. Kofi Danso Martin will witness the largest convergence of Eminent Peace Ambassadors with over a thousand indicating interest to participate at the event. The event is also expected to be Chaired by Amb. Declan Oguine a renowned philanthropist from Nigeria and an investor of repute and It will also witness the attendance of the World Peace President Amb. Per Stafsen who will be coming from the Kingdom of Denmark.
The event is also aimed at recognizing the contributions of Canada to World Peace.
