“This is a project that is aimed at empowering young Nigerians, especially young women. We realised that African culture is more disadvantageous to women. If we can harness the power of women, we can move forward.

“From the same society where I have benefited from, I feel I should give back. That’s why I am encouraging young women to use the opportunity to empower others for the next 12 months.

“You are to prove to the world that you are not only intelligent, beautiful but powerful. Since Nigeria is faced with so many illnesses, child mortality, economic crisis, and we just came out of the pandemic, we want the Queens to prove to the world that they have something to offer.

“The eyes of the world are on you, do not let us down. You must watch your public conduct. Project a national identity,” Ikwue said, adding that the business conglomerate, which is into engineering, has a Foundation that focuses on education in their efforts to eradicate poverty.

“We are fighting poverty through quality education. We also engage in empowering widows and orphans in collaboration with the Methodist Church.

“10 per cent of our yearly profit is used for charity and humanitarian projects. We partner with the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) to build computer centers in the six geopolitical zones for female students who are interested in studying sciences. So, the Queens will partner with us to project and encourage young ladies to study science,” Ikwue added.

Speaking at the event, the Grand Ambassador, who is also the Miss Naija 2023, Grace Yakubu, said they were looking forward to working with estate firm in teaching, educating and empowering others.

On her part, Princess Okonkwo, who is also the Miss Naija Universe 2023, said they will never let the company down.

For their part, the organisers of ‘Miss Naija’, the illustrious beauty pageant known for celebrating grace, beauty, and intelligence, organised by Samaila Adoyi Ogwuche, said the women were exceptional and will represent their distinguished sponsors and partners with poise and distinction.
