Nigeria’s D’Tigress have been drawn with the United States, Senegal and hosts Belgium, for the Paris 2024 FIBA basketball qualifying tournament in Antwerp.
The draw was held on Thursday, 5th October, 2023.
The qualifiers will run from 8 to 11 February 2024 in four different cities, Antwerp in Belgium, China, Sopron in Hungary and Belem in Brazil.
Tournament 1 will involve China, France, New Zealand and a team from the Americas.
France have already qualified for the Olympics by virtue of the games set to hold in Paris.
D’Tigress, USA, Senegal and Belgium will battle in Tournament 2 in Antwerp.
The USA have already booked their place in Paris as the World Cup winners.
In Tournament 3 in Belem, the teams are hosts Brazil, Serbia, Australia and Germany.
While in Sopron, hosts Hungary, Spain, Japan and a team from the Americas will contest in Tournament 4.
D’Tigress are the reigning African champions after securing their sixth continental title at the 2023 edition in Kigali, Rwanda.
The 2024 FIBA Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournaments will be the four women’s basketball tournaments that will be contested by 16 national teams, where the top teams earn a place in the 2024 Summer Olympics basketball tournament.
