Troops Kill Bandit, Rescue 6 Kidnap Victims, Recover 2 AK-47 Rifles In Kaduna

The ongoing clearance operation by Troops of 1 Division Nigerian Army Kaduna has continued to yield positive results as they killed a bandit and rescued six kidnap victims in Hayin Tsando general area of Maraban Jos in Kaduna State.

According to a statement issued by the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations 1 Division, Lieutenant Colonel Musa Yahaya, he said the gallant Troops, acting on credible and timely intelligence on the kidnap of six persons at Hayin Tsando general area of Maraban Jos, they quickly mobilised and mbarked on a search and rescue operation.

He said the troops made contact with bandits/criminal elements and a heavy fire fight ensued.

Lieutenant Colonel Yahaya added that during the operation, troops successfully rescued the six kidnapped persons, captured two AK-47 rifles and neutralised one bandit, while others escaped with several degrees of gunshot wounds.

He said the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division Nigerian Army and Force Commander, Operation Whirl Punch, Major General Valantine Okoro, has commended the troops for their resilience and further charged them to continue their aggressive tempo until all criminal elements in the Division’s Area of Responsibility were completely eradicated.

He also appealed to all paramedics to be on the lookout for persons with gunshot wounds and report to the Nigerian Army and other sister security services for prompt action.
