Zamfara: Bandits Kill 3, kidnap District Head, 11 Others

In a fresh attack, bandits have killed three persons and abducted a district head and 11 others in Bagega community in Anka local government area of Zamfara State.

The district head’s eight-year-old daughter and 10 others were among those abducted by the gunmen.

Although the police authorities in the state were yet to confirm the attack as the spokesperson of the command, ASP Yazid Abubakar, said he would make his findings and get back to LEADERSHIP.

A resident of the community, who escaped during the attack, Abdullahi Bagega, told newsmen yesterday that the bandits invaded the community on motorcycles on Monday evening and started shooting sporadically, forcing the residents to flee their homes.

He said several persons who were critically wounded were receiving treatment in various hospitals.

According to him, numerous residents who fled during the attack were still missing as they have not returned to their homes.
