Troops Repel ISWAP Night Attack In Borno

Troops of Sector 3 Multi National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) have repelled attack by the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in the North East of Kukawa in the northern part of Borno State.

It was gathered that the ISWAP fighters who came from the axis of Arinna Maimasalaci with hilux trucks and heavy weapons, attacked Mosquito Camp military base located around Mile 90 between Cross Kauwa and Monguno town in the early morning of Thursday.

According to Zagazola Makama, a Counter-Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad, the attack triggered a heavy gun battle with the troops which lasted for about one hour.

Makama added that the troops successfully repelled the attack with support from troops reinforcements from kukawa.

It could be recalled the troops of 3 Battalion Operation Hadin Kai, have repelled a similar attack by the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) attack on Gamborun Ngala, with the terrorists suffering heavy defeat.
