The chancellor of the school, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, said it was gratifying to see  that the graduating students have garnered the requisite experience and skills to successfully navigate their social and corporate lives.

Ighodalo said that the university contended with seemingly insurmountable challenges arising from the unfavourable environment in which business operates in the country, adding, “that the university survived is exemplary of the enduring spirit of perseverance and commitment, which is typical of those who put their trust in God.”

“As a university, we must stay on the course of improvement and meaningful change. I hereby call on students and other stakeholders of the university to support institutional leadership so that we can all reap the benefits of a more responsive, resourceful and effective tertiary education system,” he added.

The convocation lecturer, Engr. Abioye Ayodele, who is the managing director at BUA Foods Plc, spoke on “Life and Career Transition in a Contemporary World”.

He urged the graduands, “take note, change will become complex, accelerate and transform itself. You will need the skill to manage your transition to survive. Making the right decisions and implementing them fastest and timely guarantee your success.

“As you walk this passage today into a new life position, do not be afraid to confront challenges. Remember, tough times do not last, tough people do,” he added.

As part of the event, wife of the state governor, Betsy Obaseki commissioned the school’s nursing block, while the chairman of Channels Media Group, John Momoh, got an honourary degree in Business Administration.
